👋 I'm David.

I write open source software, support clinical research at Cambridge University Hospitals, walk as much as I can, and am worried about the climate.

In previous lives I ran the Human Organ Atlas, wrote code for researchers at University College London, and studied the solar wind.

Since 2016 I've spent a lot of time developing open source software for doing science using Python. Projects I've run or significantly contributed to are:

Walking

I've walked many miles, mainly in the UK.

Long distance paths I've walked:

The London Outer Orbital Path (LOOP)
The Capital Ring
The Thames Path (from London to Oxford)

I've also walked lots of the South English coast, which started after an aborted attempt to walk across the Pyrenees. One day maybe I'll finish my walk around England, closing the loop with Offa's Dyke Path and Hadrian's Wall. Here's my progress so far:
